Biting into the Apple... RIP Steve Jobs. iSad

Hello you, the Grieving,

So, today I woke up to a "Good Morning :(" message on my whatsapp. I asked my friend what's up and he said replied "Steve Jobs". Knowing his medical history from the media I correctly assumed the truth, he died.

May he rest in peace.

What I didn't realize though is how I would feel about this death. Being at the beginning of my entrepreneurial path right now, and an Apple user myself, I am quite shocked at the sudden feeling of emptiness I just got (just before writing this blog). Here is a person I have never met, yet feel like he's changed my life. He came up with many consumer products; many of which were considered luxury items and not essentials of life, yet now Apple is breaching the concept (if not already breached) that beautiful design and impeccable functionality is not only for the wealthy!

I grew up using the Commodore 64 in the middle of the desert (I mean the Arabian Desert, mid-late 80s). My father being an avid technology buff walked in one day with that box that glared at me. I will never forget the rainbow color Apple logo. The bite eaten out of it was just a piece of genius to me, it seemed so simple yet different. I wasn't even 10 years old at the time! In a way, it defines Apple.

Simple.
Different.

Only now are all those images of my past rushing back into my head.
Only now is his effect on my life really bring life to mine.
Only now, with the death of the working founder of Apple, am I truly appreciating his genius.

So, to Steve Jobs, may you rest in peace because your bite into the Apple has brought us a world of simplicity and uniqueness: A bright line of products that revolutionized not only the way we work, but also the way we do everything.

We touch our phone instead of dial.
We move apps into our computer instead of install.
We think simple.
We are different.

Here's to biting into more Apples, the fruit of knowledge, and not the forbidden fruit!

I grieve for the loss of brilliance today, as I am sure many of you too, the Grieving!
